Charles "Chuck" Reed

Charles “Chuck” Edward Reed, 75, of Madisonville, KY, passed on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, IN.
He was born on October 30, 1950, in Akron, OH to the late Kermit E. “Kert” Reed and Patricia “Pat” Reed.
Chuck operated Kerco, where he “started in 1958 at the age of eight.” He was a member of Covenant Community Church in Madisonville. Chuck had a love for traveling, good food, and especially sailing. He loved being around his boys and their families. Chuck had a sincere joy for making people smile.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sydney Reed; his sons, Brandon (Meaghan) Reed and their children, Addison and Will of Bowling Green, KY; Kelly (Christine) Gilliam and their children, Thomas, Everett, and Aaron of Louisville, KY; Kert (Natalie) Reed and their children, Asher and Karter of Madisonville; and Justin (Kristi) Reed and their children, Caroline and Cole of St. Augustine, FL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Covenant Community Church in Madisonville with Dr. Michael Knight officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service time Saturday at the church.
Barnett-Strother Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
