Clara Bell Yates, 71, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. \ \ She was born February 17, 1941 in Muhlenberg Co., KY to the late James Biven Drake and Bertha Cobb Drake. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. McKehan Yates; four brothers, Herman Drake, Roscoe Drake, Leon Drake and Jerry Drake; two sisters, Louise Smith and Marie Bryant and one grandchild, Jace Stanley. \ \ Mrs. Yates was a member of the Christian Tabernacle Church in Madisonville. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and bible study. \ \ She was survived by one daughter, Glenda Faye Ford of Madisonville; four sons, James (Carolyn) Yates of Sebree, KY; Donald (Romona) Yates of Slaughters, KY; Darrell (Christine) Yates of Slaughters and Jerald Yates of Madisonville; two sisters, Dorene Hoops of Beechmont, KY and Lois (Jim) Cook of Beaver Dam, KY; two brothers, Larry (Marcella) Drake of Sebree and Lonnie (Delores) Drake of Clay, KY; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. \ \ Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Christian Tabernacle Church in Madisonville with Bro. Bud Tingle and Rev Howard Tingle officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Webster Co., KY. \ \ Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. until the service time on Wednesday at the church. \ \ Pallbearers will be Joseph Morgan, Johnny Morgan, Jr., Heath Yates, Timothy Yates, James Edward Yates and Colton Maulding. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher McAfee. \ \
