John Daniel "Dan" Myers Obituary (1943 - 2017)

John Daniel 'Dan' Myers, 73, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at his residence in Madisonville. Mr. Myers was born July 5, 1943 in N. Hollywood, CA to the late Robert Martin Myers and Roselle Daniel Myers. He was also preceded in death his son, Joey Hayes Myers, one brother and one sister. Mr. Myers was a U.S. Army veteran where he served in the Military Police, he worked for the United States Postal service as a mail carrier. Dan was a simple man and always loved doing for others. He was referred to by friends as 'Mr. Sunshine'! You always knew when Dan was around because he was constantly singing! He enjoyed hunting,fishing, gardening, visiting with his sister Rosemary Purdy, and his dear friends Frankie and Shelia! A simple man is what a simple man does: Dan requested no service and to be cremated. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly. He is survived by one daughter, Kristi Elwood of Fenton, MO; one son, Tracy (Gina) Myers of Madisonville; one sister, Rosemary Purdy; and four grandchildren, Marha Tingley, Cole Elwood, Karson Elwood, and Trace Myers.
