Danny Peyton

Danny Peyton, 58, of Dawson Springs, KY passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.
He was born October 25, 1958 in Madisonville, KY to Daniel Reed Peyton, Sr. and Ole Mae Johnston Peyton. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Paul and Modest Peyton, and Dudley and Brunette Johnston.
Danny was a deacon at Stoney Point Primitive Baptist. He was currently president of Hopkins County Kentucky Farm Bureau, a member of the Hopkins County Fair Board, the Hopkins County Conservation District, and the Hopkins County Extension Council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. Danny was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many. The agricultural community of Hopkins County will dearly miss his leadership and passion.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shirley Peyton; one son, Andy (Trista) Peyton of Dawson Springs; two sisters, LaDonna (Ned) Cates of Dawson Springs and Linda Tedder of Dawson Springs; one brother, Mark (Rebecca) Peyton of Slaughters, KY; and two grandchildren, Sawyer and Timber Peyton of Dawson Springs.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Elder Donny Coursey and Elder Jeff Winfrey officiating. Burial will follow in Dalton Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 A.M. until the service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Brown, Jimmy Powell, Allen LeGrand, Nick Frazer, Jarrett Brown, and Mark Metcalfe.
Memorial contributions may be made to Dalton Cemetery Fund or Breaking Bread in Madisonville, KY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
