David Barker

Mr. David Barker, 81, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 7:02 P.M., Saturday, March 7, 2009 at his residence. \ He was born August 19, 1927 in Birmingham, AL to the late Benjamine F. and Addie Rebecca Barnhill Barker. He was also preceded in death by one son, Fred Allen Barker, and two sisters, Mary Sisk and Martha Utley. \ Mr. Barker was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madisonville. He was a Mine Superintendent for P & M Coal Mines and a WW II Navy Veteran. \ He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Corrie Barker of Madisonville; three daughters, Delilah Barker of Gallatin, TN, Gisele (Steve) Peay of Memphis, TN and Allison Lee Barker of El Paso, TX; one son, Dennis (Diane) Barker of Hanson, KY; seven grandchildren, Frances Barker, Dennis (Chrissy) Barker II, Trevor S. Smith, Ian A. Smith, Mary Cathryn Peay, Crawford Gray Peay and David Joseph Niemann. \ Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday until the service time at the funeral home. \ Memorial Contributions may take the form of donation to the Green River Hospice in Madisonville or the Sunrise Childrens Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
