Dr. Joe E. Roe MD

Joseph E. Roe MD, 81 of Madisonville, KY passed away peacefully surrounded by his family December 4, 2017 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN.
Dr. Roe was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He served his community as a beloved and respected physician. His love for football and the University of Tennessee was well known and unwavering.
His accomplishments are many, but he wasn't one to brag and would not want them listed. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet commitment to humanity and a solid sense of family that will live on in everyone he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Roe, of 59 years; four children; and ten grandchildren that loved him every day of his life.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the University of Tennessee Alumni Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
