Elvira Catherine Timmons

\ Elvira Catherine Timmons, 100, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville. \ \ She was born August 6, 1912 in Madisonville to the late Nettie M. and Pearl C. Williams. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, J.B. Thomas; her second husband, Thornton Timmons; two brothers, John E. and Emil J. Williams; her sister, Thelma Coffman; and one nephew, Edward Glenn Coffman Jr. \ \ Mrs. Timmons was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she attended the Isabel Gardiner Sunday School Class and the Wesleyan Circle. \ \ She was survived by three nephews, John Davis of Thompson Station, TN, Malcolm Coffman of Coca Beach, FL, and Frank Williams of Madisonville, KY; three nieces, Emily Williams Lancaster of Ocean Springs, MS, Betsy Williams-Johnson of Madisonville, and Sue Bigers of Slaughters, KY, and many friends. \ \ Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 20, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. \ \ Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. \ \ Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Childrens Home and First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
