Hank G. Dawson

Hank G. Dawson, 62 of Madisonville, KY passed away from this life, Sunday, June 21, 2015 with his family by his side and walked into his heavenly home.
He was born March 8, 1953 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late Albert Dawson and Pauline Tanner Dawson.
Hank was a charter member and elder at Love United Baptist Church in Madisonville. He worked 27 years in the coal mines and was a member and faithful supporter of the UMWA District #23. He was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. He loved hunting, fishing, his church and spending time with his family. He was a hard worker all of his life. He took great pride in providing for his family. Throughout his sickness and suffering, he never wavered in his faith in God.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carla Matheny Dawson; one daughter, Stefanie Harris and son-in-law Rodney of Madisonville; one son, Matt (Katrina) Dawson of Madisonville; two sisters, Sandra (Terry) Miller of Madisonville and Trudy Ezell of Madisonville; two brothers, Rodger and Steve Dawson both of Madisonville; grandchildren, Makailey Harris, Landon Harris, Dayton Dawson, Bryson Harris, Braylon Harris, and Chloe Dawson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Barnett Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Shocklee officiating. Burial will be at Love United Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday and after 12:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Steele Pierson, Rollie Matheny, Eric Matheny, Ross Atwell, Steve Earl and Troy Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons; Landon Harris, Bryson Harris, Braylon Harris, and Dayton Dawson.
