Hattie Bell Baldwin Obituary (1938 - 2016)

Hattie Bell Baldwin, 78, of Madisonville passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Baldwin was born April 11, 1938 in Clifty, KY to the late Chester Gates and Mabel Gates. She was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Lynn; five sisters, and one brother. Hattie was an active member of Providence Rural United Methodist Church in Hanson. Through the years she taught Sunday School, Bible School , and she held various positions with the church. She was a part of the Classic Cruisers Car Club. She enjoyed quilting, and baking chocolate pies. She was a prayer warrior and most of all she loved being a grandma. She is survived by her husband, James D. 'Buck' Baldwin, Jr.; two sons, Cary of Madisonville and Kent (Lena) of Hanson; six sisters, Murel, Jean, Eula, Anna, Janice, and Mary; six brothers, JC, Lindle, Darrell, Gary, Jewel and Timmy; five grandchildren, Trevor, Justin, Kendall, Lacy and Paige; three great grandchildren; Mckinley, Avery, and Madi; and several nieces and nephews that thought of her as mom. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Baldwin and Rev. J.W. Durst officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and 12:00 P.M. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kent Baldwin, Trevor Baldwin, Bill Combs, Jeff Baldwin, Cary Baldwin, Justin Baldwin, Brad Baldwin, and Brian Baldwin. Memorial contributions can be made to the Providence Rural United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or Rachel's Rewards Program c/o Hanson School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
