Shirley Beatrice Gibson Obituary (1937 - 2009)

Mrs. Shirley Beatrice Gibson, 71 of Madisonville, died Thursday, January 15, 2009 at 2:35 A.M. at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ She was born December 18, 1937 in Providence, KY to the late J.P. Duncan Sr. and Dorothy Hicks Duncan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Gibson December 27, 2006; two sons, Jeffrey Lynn Gibson April 12, 1996 and Steven Ray Gibson October 1, 1994; one daughter Melody Gaye Gibson September 27, 1990; two sisters, Macy Wolfe and Wanda Wiggins; and one brother, Earl J. Duncan. \ Mrs. Gibson was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness in Madisonville. \ She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Gale Brown of Clearwater, FL and Lana Downey of Madisonville; three sons, Kenneth Wayne Gibson of Madisonville, James Michael Gibson of Glasgow, KY, and Rodger Dale Gibson of Madisonville; two brothers, Nathaniel Duncan of Greenville, KY and J.P. Duncan Jr. of Madisonville; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Slaton officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson. \ Friends may call the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2009 and on Sunday from noon until service time. \
