Wayne Phillips Obituary (1966 - 2015)

Wayne Phillips, 49, of Slaughters, KY, passed away Sunday November 1, 2015 at Baptist Hospital in Madisonville, KY. He was born May 28, 1966 in Madisonville. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Sullivan. Wayne worked as an electrician at Armstrong Coal. He was a member of Providence Rural United Methodist Church in Hanson, KY. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Vandygriff Phillips; his son, Brandon Wayne Phillips of Slaughters; his daughter, Brooke Nicole Phillips of Slaughters; his mother, Brenda Muehlbauer, and step-dad, Bob, of Evansville, IN; three brothers, Patrick McIntosh of Madisonville, Rodney McIntosh of Graham, KY, and Donnie Hatler of Hanson; and his grandmother, Jo Nell Sullivan of Evansville. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Oakley and Bro. Chuck Ladd officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 9:00 A.M. Thursday until the service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Patrick McIntosh, Rodney McIntosh, Donnie Hatler, Brandon Phillips, Jordan Vandygriff, and Levi Vandygriff. Memorial Contributions can be made to an Education Fund for his Children C/o First United Bank. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
