James Walter French

Mr. James Walter French, 90, of Madisonville, KY died at 6:55 P.M. Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at his home. \ Born May 16, 1913 in Mt. Vernon, KY to the late George Washington French and Lola Doan French. He was also preceded in death by one son, F.L. French in 1946, four sisters and three brothers. \ Mr. French was a member of Greater Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and was a retired carpenter and cabinet maker for French Construction. He was a World War II Army veteran having served with the 94th Calvary. He served in the campaigns of Normandy, Northern France and Central Europe and received the AME Theater Ribbon and four Bronze Stars. \ Mr. French is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Glenna Faye Ramsey French; one daughter, Janice Faye Smith of Madisonville; two sons, Jackie Ray French of Madisonville and Dannie Joe French of Hanson, KY; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 13, 2003, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Hendricks and Bro. Danny Strader officiating. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery in Hanson, KY. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and after 8:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. \ \ \
