James D Gibson Obituary (1944 - 2017)

James D. Gibson, 72 of Madisonville passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Gibson was born March 13, 1944 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late William Thomas Gibson and Hallie Hawkins Gibson. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John William Gibson, Bobby Gibson, and Kenneth Gibson; and three sisters, Ruth Ezell, Betty Sue James, and Helen Carter. Mr. Gibson was a member of Slaughters United Methodist Church. He was a truck driver for River Valley Animal Foods. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine Crowley Gibson; three daughters, Johnna (James) France of Princeton, KY, Kim Gibson of Madisonville, and Krystal (Clifton Etheridge) Gibson of Marion, KY; three sons, Donald 'Dezsie' (Stephanie) Gibson of Kirbyton, KY, Mike (Jeannie) Gibson of Dixon, KY, and Marty (Tammy) Gibson of Clay, KY; three step-children, Neal Crowley of Hanson, KY, Mahlon (Beverly) Crowley of Manitou, KY, and Myra (Jeff) Clark of Manitou; two sisters, Beatrice (James) Cunningham of Madisonville and Brenda (Henry) Faughn of Madisonville; one brother, Billy (Becky) Gibson of Madisonville; grandchildren, Michael Miller, Amanda Miller, Brittany Gibson, Chasity Gibson, Christopher Gibson, D.J. Gibson, Hallie Gibson, and Bailey Ross whom they raised; 16 great grandchildren; and step grandchildren, Joseph Clark, Ashley Clark, Ben Crowley, Aaron Dunn and Ragan Dunn. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Young and Bro. Chris Whitmer officiating. Burial will follow in Slaughters Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Saturday and 12:00 P.M. until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
