James \Jimmy\"" Simmons Obituary (1961 - 2014)

\ James 'Jimmy' Simmons Jr., 52 of Manitou, KY died Saturday, July 5th at his residence. \ \ He was born July 8th, 1961 in Hopkins County, KY to Bobbie Simmons and the late James H. Simmons Sr. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, J.P. and Rachel Simmons and Robert and Lucy Bivins. \ \ Mr. Simmons was employed by Crop Production Services in Slaughters, KY. He was an over the road truck driver and trainer for many years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #347. \ \ He is survived by his mother, Bobbie Simmons of Manitou; one sister Lynda (Steve) Oakley of Madisonville, KY; one brother, Douglas Simmons of Manitou, KY; He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who he loved as his own children, Stephanie (Connor & McKenzie) Tucker of Nebo, KY; Rachel (Jesse) Brandt of Strasburg, IL; Taylor (Elaina) Simmons of Madisonville; Kendal Simmons of Greenville, KY; and James Simmons of Madisonville. \ \ Memorial services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Thursday July 10, 2014 at Oakley Home General Baptist Church. \ \ Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until the service time at the church. \ \ Memorial donations may be made to Oakley Home General Baptist Church. \ \
