Jean Hudson Troop

Jean Troop, 89, of Madisonville, Kentucky passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 at the Heartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born April 10, 1937 in Hopkins County, Kentucky to the late Victor E. and Gladys Yandell Hudson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Johnny Troop, and her brother, Harold “Buddy” Hudson.

Jean worked as a Lab Technician for Trover Clinic in Earlington, Kentucky for 32 years and retired in 1996. During her retirement she enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Jonathan Troop of Madisonville; daughters Jan Carlton (Rob) of Owensboro, and Scarlett Beeny (Alan) of Madisonville; grandson Alex Beeny of Lexington, Kentucky; brother Tommy Hudson of Hanson, Kentucky; and sisters-in-law Sheryl Hudson of Joliet, Illinois, Sharon Gray, and Gayle Haviland (Warren) all of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Barnett Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Rev. Kara Foster officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time.
