Jeffrey Rodgers

Jeffrey Dale Rodgers, 57, of White Plains, KY, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.
He was born June 8, 1967, in Jeffersonville, IN, to the late Woodson Lee Rodgers Sr. and Martha Suzanne Carter Rodgers of Madisonville.
Jeff worked as a teacher and a coach at Fort Campbell for 34 years. Jeff taught health and PE at all grade levels, led the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, coached multiple sports, started the FCHS archery program, and served as a mentor and friend to all those he encountered. His phrase of “It’s a great day to have a great day” was one of his many influences that helped change mindsets and will continue to live on in the years to come.
When he wasn’t at work, you could typically find Jeff somewhere outdoors. Lover of nature, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, farming, gardening, and any type of exploring he could find. He spent many hours working on his farm and taking care of all his animals. In the summers, Jeff also guided hikes in the Smoky Mountains.
Jeff was a strong believer and very active in his Christian faith. Jeff was dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle, consistently exercising, and staying in shape. He always had a smile on his face and was kind to anyone and everyone, often lending a helping hand to neighbors and friends. Jeff was a one-of-a-kind man.
He is survived by his daughter, McKenzie (Ethan) Putty of Nortonville, KY; his mother, Martha Rodgers, of Madisonville, KY; and his brother, Woody (Sabrina) Rodgers, of Hanson, KY.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Earl officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the service time Thursday at the funeral home in Madisonville.
Pallbearers will be Woody Rodgers, Ethan Putty, Hal Latham, Chris Crawley, Mel Love, and Tony Johnston.
