John A. McGuire

Mr. John A. McGuire, 85 of Madisonville, KY passed away at 3:10 P.M., Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ He was born February 13, 1925 in Monon, IN to the late John Cleveland McGuire and Edith Johnson McGuire. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Samuel McGuire and three sisters, Mary Dixon; Dorothy Vester and Charlotte Gangwer. \ Mr. McGuire worked as a Plant Operator and treasurer for Gary Hobart Water Corporation in Gary, IN. He was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church for nine years. He served as Deacon, a Sunday School Director as well as treasurer for three churches in Northwest Indiana for 50 years. \ He is survived by his wife, Jo M. McGuire of Madisonville; one daughter, Jennifer L. McGuire of Griffith, IN; one son, John B. (Barry) and wife Robin Benton McGuire of Hebron, IN; one sister, Betty Linback of LaPorte, IN and one granddaughter, Ashley Nichole McGuire of Hebron, IN. \ Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 22, 2010 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Old Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY. \ Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. on Monday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Ricky Lamb, Rick Lathers, Shawn Moore, Mike Moore, Jewell Moore and Drew Brewer. \ Memorial contributions may be made to the Park Avenue Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
