Johnny H. Carson Obituary (1916 - 2010)

Mr. Johnny H. Carson, 93, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 11:40 A.M., Thursday, March 11, 2010 at his residence. \ He was born December 22, 1916 in Bowling Green, KY to the late Marvin Henry and Nellie Elizabeth Iglehart Carson. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Thomas, Elsie Carson and Mildred Hyde. \ Mr. Carson was a World War II Navy Veteran and a Deacon Emeritus, member and former Sunday School Teacher at Second Baptist Church in Madisonville. \ He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ivy Lou Sears Carson of Madisonville; three sons, Johnny Dale (Suzann) Carson of Amherst, VA, Steve (Charlene) Carson and Dennis (Patty) Carson all of Madisonville; two brothers, Bob (Maxine) Carson of Bowling Green and Melvin Carson of Glasgow, KY; six grandchildren, Ben Carson, Eric Carson, Forrest Carson, Samantha Carver, Hannah Carson and Emily Carson; six great grandchildren, Sage Carson, Ethan Carson, Olivia & Zachary Carson and Meagan & Maggie Carver. \ Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. J.D. Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 and noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Steve Pugh, Johnny Boswell, Eric Carson, Forrest Carson, Ben Carson and Steve Carver. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Second Baptist Church in Madisonville or Green River Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
