Judy Lee Bryant

–

Zanesville, OH

\ Judy Lee (Holt) Bryant, age 72 peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 6th, 2014 at Primrose Retirement Community surrounded by loving family after a long courageous battle with illness. \ \ She was born March 22, 1942 in Fulton, Missouri to Roy L. and Louise Holt who both survive. \ \ Judy spent most of her life in Kentucky and Ohio. She married Paul Bryant in 1960. They had two daughters, Becky and Paula. Judy returned to school and received a BA in Education from Ohio University in 1983. More than anything she loved being with her family, daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed many vacations with her family and loved the beach. Judy liked to draw and paint and has blessed many with her artwork. While Judy has spent the last 13 years in Ohio she always thought of Kentucky as home. She will best be remembered by her family for making all the get togethers special and the unconditional love she showed them. So many of those gatherings and memories are associated with food as Judy was an excellent cook. She shared this love of cooking by hand writing her best recipes in cookbooks that she gave to her daughters. Judy patiently taught her daughters, grandchildren and nieces how to cook. \ \ Judy was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Ethyl Holt, maternal grandmother, Ann Smith, brother-in-laws, Paul 'Butch' Haynie and Rodney Dement. \ \ She is survived by daughters, Becky (Doug) Share of Fresno, Ohio and Paula (Troy) McCollister of Zanesville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Share, Katherine Share, Victoria Share, Brandon McCollister, Drew McCollister, and Sydney McCollister. Judy is also survived by two sisters, Linda Dement and Shirley Haynie and one brother, Dale (Tammy) Holt all of Madisonville, Kentucky along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. \ \ The family would like to thank all the wonderful, loving staff at Primrose Retirement Community (especially Kelly Schwartz) and the staff with Hospice of Central Ohio (especially Anne Fuller) for their help and support during this difficult time. \ \ A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the First Christian Church in Providence, Kentucky with Pastor Jeff Mandrell providing the eulogy. \ \ Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the service time at the First Christian Church. Barnett-Strother Funeral Home of Madisonville, Kentucky will be assisting the family. Burial will take place in the church's cemetery in Providence. \ \ Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055. \ \
