Katie Jewell "Miss Katie" Oliver Obituary (1924 - 2017)

Katie Jewell 'Miss Katie' Oliver, 92 of Madisonville, KY passed away Sautrday, September 23, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mrs. Oliver was born November 7, 1924 in Webster County, KY to the late Hubert Overby and Grace Winstead Overby. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Archie Oliver, one brother, and one grandson, Joshua Oliver. She made her living as a homemaker. She was a volunteer as Same Day Surgery. She was known as Miss Katie at Pride Elementary and other schools. Katie also worked at the Clinic Convalescent Center. She was a reader at the nursing home. She served faithfully alongside her husband, Bro. Archie Oliver, as a pastor's wife. She is survived by four daughters, Millie (Phillip) Noel of Madisonville, Carolyn (Gary) Clark of Madisonville, Leveda (Bailey) Keeling of Hilton Head, SC, and Jane (Wayne) Parker of Louisville, KY; two sons, Dennis (Becky) Oliver of Eddyville, KY and Phillip (Kim) Oliver of Central City, KY; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the Mt. Pisgah Church with Jane Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home and after 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at the church. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
