Kermit L. Keene

Mr. Kermit L. Keene, 83, of Madisonville, KY, died Thursday, November 18, 2004, at 12:55 P.M., at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, KY. \ Born August 5, 1921, in Macon County, TN, he was the son of the late Willie Mitchel Keene and Liza Elender Hearld Keene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Blanch Prow Keene on August 11, 2003, and by two sisters, Velma Ray Keene and Elma Ray Jarvis. \ He was a member of Suthards Baptist Church in Suthards, KY, was a member of the Macon County Historical Society, and was a member of the \
E. W. Turner Masonic Lodge in Earlington, KY. He was a Navy WWII veteran. \ Mr. Keene is survived by four daughters, Anne Morgan and Rose Marie Martz, both of Madisonville, Emma Jean Nash of Calhoun, KY, and Fara Keene of New Salisbury, IN; two step-daughters, Pam Nickelson of Madisonville and Sandra Rideout of Hanson, KY; two sisters, Wilma Matney of Madisonville and Sharion MacManus of Suthards, KY; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be Sunday, November 21, 2004, at 2:00 P.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. George Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, with military rites by the VFW #5480 and American Legion Post #6. \ Visitation will be Saturday, November 20, 2004, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and on Sunday from 8:00 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home. \ Mr. Keenes grandsons will serve as pallbearers. \
