Kim Murphy

Kim Yvette Murphy, 64 years young, of Henderson, KY, formerly of Madisonville, KY, ran joyfully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her home.
Born on July 6, 1962, she was the daughter of the late Robert Derington and the late Marilyn Egbert Derington. In addition to her parents, she was also greeted in Heaven by her son, Timothy Murphy.
Kim loved music, with much of her time spent singing, playing the piano, trumpet, and participating in and watching theatre. She also enjoyed reading, drawing, cross-stitch and needlepoint, travel, and the great outdoors. She is remembered for her love of photography and her relationship with her cats. While these hobbies took up much of her time, she will forever be seen as the compassionate woman that she was, never leaving a friend in need. She was an active member of PEO and of AA, where her encouragement and love will not be forgotten.
She is remembered by the family she leaves behind, such as her loving daughter and best friend, Alexis “Lexie” (Spenser) Murphy-Davis; her sister, Trudie Derington Shrewsberry; Her nephew, Joshua (Amanda) Derington; and her niece, Victory Shrewsberry.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
