Kivil Malcom Brown

–

Slaughters, KY

Kivil Malcolm Brown, 74, of Slaughters Kentucky, passed away on May 6th after a brief illness.

Kivil was born on April 15, 1950 to Malcolm and Anna Etta Brown in Wheatcroft Kentucky. Kivil worked at Dotiki Mine for 37 years first in production, and later as a surveyor and mine engineer. Kivil was an active member of the Pennyrile Church of Christ.

Kivil was able to fulfill his dream of living on his own small lake. He enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. He loved to see young people enjoy fishing. He spent quite a bit of time tinkering with his RC trucks and getting ready for a race as well as running in crawler competitions. One of his greatest joys was taking pictures of nature. He especially loved sitting on the back porch overlooking the lake in the morning and capturing shots of the sunlight on the lake, and animals like squirrel or geese playing.

Kivil was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lea Brown of Slaughters, son Steve Brown (Darlene) of Salvisa Kentucky, Clint Brown (Jennifer) of Slaughters, sister, Jeanetta Brown of Providence Kentucky; stepson Timothy Isenberg (Renee) of Cedar Rapids Iowa, stepdaughter Julie Sikora (Patrick) of Bowling Green Kentucky, and stepson David Isenberg (Megan) of Cedar Rapids Iowa. Grandchildren include Meagan, Autumn, and Bryson Brown; and step grandchildren Austin, Andy, and Adam Riley; Abby, Libby, Miles, and Sloane Isenberg.

Memorial services to be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday May 18, 2024 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Sean Niestrath and Dr. Ed Gallagher officiating.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.
