Lemuel \Eddie\"" Scott, Jr. Obituary (1925 - 2010)

Mr. Lemuel Eddie Scott Jr., 84, of Madisonville, KY passed away at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 9, 2010, at his residence after a lengthy illness. \ He was born December 21, 1925 in Arkansas to the late Lemuel Edward and Lola Looney Scott. \ Mr. Scott was of Baptist faith and attended Hanson Baptist Church. He was a retired salesman for Brandeis Machinery. \ He is survived by his wife, Sue Winstead Scott of Madisonville; two sons, Dennis (Cleva) Scott of Madisonville and David (Janet) Winstead of Dawson Springs, KY; two daughters, Dianna Scott Orth of GA and Barbara (Mike) Wells of Madisonville; two brothers, Bob Scott of SC and Buck Scott of AR; grandchildren, Troy (Melanie) Scott of FL, Shanda (John) Davey of SC, Tiffany Orth of NC, Kelly (Eric) McDurmon, April (Adam) Bridgman of AL, Holly (Austin) Tarkington, Sonja (Dustin) Scott, Wendy (Scott) Basham of Hanson, Cindy (Tony) Barnett, Johnathon (Nicole) Winstead and Joe Winstead of Dawson Springs, KY; thirteen great grandchildren. \ He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Montgomery Scott; one sister, Tina Thomas and one brother, Ellery Scott. \ Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Branson officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and 1:00 P.M. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. \ Pallbearers will be Mike Wells, David Winstead, Troy Scott, Eric McDurmon, Adam Bridgman, Austin Tarkington, Dustin Scott and Johnathon Winstead. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to the Alzheimers Association or the American Caner Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
