Lillian Christine Oakley Obituary (1930 - 2010)

Lillian Christine Oakley, 80, of Hanson, KY passed away at 3:35 P.M., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville, KY. \ She was born February 19, 1930, in Madisonville, KY to the late Dennie Gilbert and Susie Ellen Allen Glaysbrook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Marshall Oakley; six brothers, Cecil, Thurman, Evan, JC, Charles G. Buck and Earl Glaysbrook; four sisters, Stella White, Pearl Mithcell, Mary Lou Thompson and Lillie Nesmith. \ Mrs. Oakley attended the Living Waters Church of God in Madisonville. She was a homemaker as well as worked at many area restaurants throughout the years. \ She is survived by one son, Carlis (Shannon) Oakley of Hanson; one brother, James Edward Glaysbrook of Madisonville; seven grandchildren, Jeff Oakley, Jason Oakley, Jerrad Oakley, Monica Brase, Tandy Burr, Heather Ray and Jackie Whitfield, Jr. and 14 great grandchildren. \ Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Burr officiating. Burial will follow in Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville. \ Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. \
