Marvin E. Hibbs

Mr. Marvin E. Hibbs, 79, of Madisonville, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. \ He was born December 28, 1930 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late Marvin Herschel Hibbs and Irine Elizabeth Corbitt Hibbs. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carolyn Smith Hibbs; one brother Raymond Hibbs and a nephew, David Hibbs. \ Mr. Hibbs was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He was also a member of DAV Chapter 8 of Hopkinsville, the Sr. Citizens Center, the Gospel Sounds Choir and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5480. \ He is survived by one step-daughter, Pamela Baker of N. Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Christine DeMoss of Dawson Springs; one brother, James (Frances) Hibbs of Madisonville and several nieces. \ Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2010 at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Tondra Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. \ Graveside Honor Services will be conducted by the Hopkins County Honor Guard of Madisonville. \ Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and from 11:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Liberty Baptist Church Annex Building. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
