Mary Alice Woodring

Mary Alice Woodring, 84, of Providence, KY passed away Monday, April 22 , 2024 at Madisonville Health and Rehab.

She was born October 11, 1939 in Diamond, KY to late Willie Jones and Goldie Oldham Jones. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, William Earl Woodring, Jr.; along with her brothers, J.D. Jones, Basil Jones, Doug Jones, and Frankie Jones; and sisters, Margaret Koker and Katherine Simms.

Mary was a member of Green Grove Baptist Church. She loved spending her time taking care of her family and house. She found pleasure in simple things, such as riding the golf cart around. You could usually find her out shopping, especially at Walmart, and out weedeating and blowing the leaves.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Larry Moore Woodring of Providence; three sons, Larry Douglas (Cynthia) Woodring of Providence, William Earl (Nina McVay) Woodring of Providence, and James Edwin (Anita Wilson) Woodring of Providence; two daughters, Deborah Ann (Stacey) Payne of Providence and Darla Jan (John S.) Quinn of Tuscumbia, AL; five grandchildren, Lesleigh (Adam) Overfield of Corydon, KY, Julie (Jon) Gibson of Clay, KY, Michael (Kayla) Woodring of Providence, Dakota (Kristina) Woodring of DeKoven, KY, and Kassie (Jeremy Stinnett) Woodring of Providence; one step-granddaughter, Olivia Payne of Nortonville, KY; twenty-six great grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. April 26, 2024 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home Providence Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday and from 10:00 A.M. until service time Friday at the funeral home in Providence.

Pallbearers will be John Quinn, Michael Woodring, Dakota Woodring, Jon Gibson, Stacey Payne, William Woodring, and Billy Simms.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Green Grove Church Fund at 33 Green Road, Providence KY 42450.
