Maurice Fredrick Genton

Maurice F. Genton, age 95, passed away on October 31, 2018 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson.
He was born in Crab Orchard, KY on August 24, 1923 to the late Mike and Babetta Genton. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Genton.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frankfort, KY. He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a US Army Veteran of World War II and Korea Occupation. He retired as a Major after 20 years of service followed by 20 years with the Kentucky Department of Transportation as a senior right-of-way agent with the right-of-way division.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Jerry W. Genton and daughter-in-law, Sue Genton of Madisonville; two granddaughters, Julie (Dr. Steve) Sampson of Madisonville and Beth (Taylor) Brodarick of Nashville, TN; three great grandchildren, Kate, Will, and Anna Sampson all of Madisonville; and one brother, Arthur Genton of Florida.
There will be no visitation. Interment will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2018 in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY with Chaplain K.C. Klarner officiating with Military Honors given by the Fort Campbell Honor Guard.
Barnett-Strother Funeral Home will be in charge of funeral arrangements.
