Modest Cordelia Downey

Mrs. Modest Cordelia Downey, 92, of Madisonville, KY, died at 9:15 A.M. Thursday, September 21, 2006, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. \ Born October 1, 1913 in Hopkins County, KY. She was the daughter of the late John Morgan Boze and Beulah Fox Boze. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Sandusky Downey; one son, Leroy Downey; four sisters, Ollie Fauquher, Agnes Ferguson, Ethel Stone and Vera Stearsman and one brother, Wilbur Boze. \ Mrs. Downey was a member of the Pond River Baptist Church in Anton and a member of the Woodmen Drill Team. \ Surviving are three daughters, Carol Brackett, Sue Utley and Sandra Lee, all of Madisonville; one brother, Clarence Boze of Evansville, In; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. \ Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 25, 2006, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grapevine Cemetery. \ Pallbearers will be Dustin Gamble, Eric Gamble, Travis Gibbons, Craig Utley, Mike Downey and Tony Downey. \ Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. Monday. \
