Nannie Evelyn Slaton

\ Miss Nannie Evelyn Slaton, 93, of Providence and formerly of Madisonville, KY, died at 9:20 A.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. \ Born February 3, 1914 in Hopkins County, KY. She was the daughter of James Edmond Slaton and Amelia Denton Slaton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Nora Lee Anderson and Lanna Scott and one brother, Albert Slaton. \ Miss Slaton was a member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Providence and a former member of Liberty Baptist Church in Madisonville and long time Sunday school teacher. She was a former Clerk at Hopkins County Hospital and an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. \ Miss Slaton is survived by two brothers, John M. Slaton of Anton, KY and Joe Slaton of Providence, KY and several nieces and nephews. \ Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 11, 2007, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Laddie Pride and Bro. Monroe Slaton officiating. Burial will be in Browder Cemetery. \ Pallbearers will be Scott Slaton, Jason Slaton, Norris Slaton, John Slaton, James Slaton and Jimmy Scott. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the services. \ Memorial gifts may take the form of donations to the KY Baptist Homes for Children or your preferred charity. \ \ \
