Ruth Ellen Dukes

Ruth Ellen Dukes 87, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at her residence in Madisonville.
Mrs. Dukes was born on April 21, 1928 in Central City, KY, to the late Roy Francis Toll and Gladys Hayes Toll. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She worked at Watson's Department Store for 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her boxer, Roxie.
She is survived by two daughters, Dianne P'Pool of Madisonville and Beverly Crick of Greenville, KY; one son, David Dukes of Madisonville; six grandchildren, Tracey Lewis, Scott Branch, Todd P'Pool, Matthew Dukes, Chris Dukes, and Sarah Cunningham; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held privately through Barnett-Strother Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be private.
Pallbearers will be Todd P'Pool, Matthew Dukes, Chris Dukes, Rodger Cunningham, Mike Gunn, and Doug Crick.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
