Ruth Evelyn Haleman Winstead

Ruth Evelyn Haleman Winstead, 89, of Madisonville, KY passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her residence in Madisonville.
She was born January 11, 1927 in Webster County, KY to the late Zebedee Haleman and Agnes Evelyn Hancock Haleman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, B.D. 'Bill' Winstead, one daughter, Linda Faye Winstead, one sister, Wilma Towery, two brothers, Ray Haleman and James Haleman, and a grandson, John Ross Bratcher.
Mrs. Winstead retired from Sears and Roebuck. She was a member of Richland Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Ladies Sunday School class for many years, and also served as the church clerk.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Noe of Campbellsville, KY and Donna Winstead of Madisonville; a sister, Juanita Stone of Manitou, KY; three grand children, Todd Bratcher of Bowling Green, KY, Wesley (Melanie) Bratcher of Danville, KY, and Lee Anne Coy of Mt. Vernon, KY; and four great grandchildren, Colton Bratcher of Bowling Green, Cameron Coy of Mt. Vernon, Banks Bratcher of Danville, and Lilly Bratcher of Danville; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Lantrip officiating. Burial will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Baptist Health Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
