Sarah Wallace Barron

Miss. Sarah Wallace Barron, 99 of Nebo, KY died Monday, August 11, 2008, at 12:05 A.M. at Shemwell Nursing Home in Providence, KY \ She was born May 15, 1909 in Nebo to the late Wallace Henry and Mattie Lee Cox Barron. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Schultz and Elizabeth Wilderman; four brothers, William Bill Barron, W.H. HE Barron, James Inkhum Barron and Hurbert Barron. \ Miss Barron was the oldest living member of Nebo Christian Church, she had taught school for 43 years in Nebo, was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, a Kentucky Colonel, the Hopkins County Historical Society and a member of the Robert Howson Hooe Chapter of the DAR. \ She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Jane Rice Peyton and Gerald Peyton of Hendersonville, TN; nieces, LaLena Barron Utley of Nebo and Sarah Jane Oxford of Hendersonville; one nephew, Terry J. Barron of Madisonville, KY and several other nieces and nephews. \ Graveside services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Union Cemetery with Bro. Ted Morelock officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Nebo. \ There will be no visitation. \ Barnett-Strother Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. \ Memorial contributions may take the form of donation to Nebo Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. \
