Sarah Elizabeth Walker

Mrs. Sarah Walker, 83, of Henderson, formerly of Madisonville, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011, at Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson. \ She was born December 30, 1927 in Hopkins Co., KY to the late Guy Wilkerson and Loraine Lovan Wilkerson. She was also preceded in death by, two sisters, Minnie Adams and Wilma Boyle and two brothers, Charles Wilkerson and Thomas Wilkerson. \ Mrs. Walker was a member of the Madisonville Church of Christ and the Henderson Church of Christ. Mrs. Walker worked in the Nursing field and for the Department of Human Rescources. \ She is survived by her husband, Bill Walker of Henderson; two daughters, Rita (Mike) Jenkins of Henderson and Karen Lewis of Alexandria, VA; three sons, Tommy (Helen) Terry of St. Charles; Rick (Lisa) Moore of Dawson Springs and Wayne Moore of Henderson; one brother, Odie Wilkerson of Akron, OH; three sisters, Nell Grubbs of Madisonville; Helen Vickery of Henderson, TN and Sue Moore of Mortons Gap; six grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Moore of White Plains; Brandy (Rob) Raye of Hanson; Rick (Lori) Moore of White Plains; Jeremy (Jackie) Gates of Henderson; Brandon Lewis of Mesa, AZ and Matt Gonzales of Alexandria, VA; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. \ Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Russell Kline and Gary Puryear officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap. \ Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday and 11:00 A.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. \ In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the St. Anthonys Hospice/Lucy Smith King Care Center of Henderson, KY. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
