Steven Eugene Merritt

Steven Eugene Merritt , 72, of Hanson, KY, passed away Monday March 18, 2024.
He was born January 4, 1952 in Paxton, IL to the late Kenneth Eugene Merritt. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Zarate and infant granddaughter, Elaina Zarate.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Venters Merritt of Hanson; his mother, Frances Walker Merritt of Ludlow, IL; one sister, Gloria Jean Frank of Ludlow; two daughters, Shannon (Brian) Hardesty and Tamara Rice, both of Hanson; eleven grandchildren, Rett Nieters and Isaiah Hardesty of Louisville, KY, Caleb Hardesty of Birmingham, AL, Alicia Tirey and Trenton Hardesty, both of Madisonville, Tatiana and Lucia Hardesty, both of Hanson, Sunny Rice, Breanna Rice, Shianne King, all of Owensboro, KY, and Samantha Bradley of Washington State; and four great grandchildren.
Steven was a member of Slaughters Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday March 23, 2024 at Slaughters Baptist Church with Bro. Brad Tucker officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the service time at the church.
