Thomas Eugene "Gene" Clark Obituary (1927 - 2018)

Thomas Eugene 'Gene' Clark, 90, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson. He was born on December 21, 1927 in Earlington, KY to the late Nellie Newcom and Joseph Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife, of 60 years, Edna Shoulders Clark, seven sisters, six brothers, and one great grandson, Wyatt Oldham. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Earlington. His hobbies were raising a garden, fishing, and cars. Gene loved hosting backyard barbeques. He worked as a Ford parts manager for local, and several surrounding, dealerships for over forty years. He is survived by two sons, Trent (Crystal) Clark and Joe (Martha) Clark; granddaughters, Cara Clark, Lyndee (Ryan) Burden, Mandi (Geoffrey) Minton, Tabetha Oldham and Amy Clark; and great grandchildren, Kailyn Clark, Joseph Gunn, Madison Minton, Will Burden, Lily Minton, and Samuel Burden. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Earlington with Father David Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the Hopkins County Honor Guard at the gravesite. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary service at 6:30 P.M. Tuesday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. until service time Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
