Wanda Whitledge

Wanda Whitledge, 90 of Madisonville, KY passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Madisonville Health and Rehab.
She was born June 7, 1930 in Providence, KY to the late Leslie Elmer Hughes and Cleo Grace Parrish Hughes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Loyce Whitledge; one son, Larry Kenneth; and three brothers, Jack, Brian, and Benny Hughes; and two sisters, Joyce Dean Ressett and Betty Meazles
Mrs. Whitledge was a guidance counselor and was a teacher for over 40 years. She was a member at General Baptist Church where she served as music director, a youth director, a Sunday School teacher, president of the Missionary Society and started the Seeds of God's Word. She was also a member of the Retired Teacher's Association.
She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Whitledge of Madisonville; one son, Rick (Jackie) Whitledge of Madisonville; grandchildren, Jody (Leigh Ann) Hogart, Sean (Jaime) Jones and Shelbie (Erik) Peyton; and great grandchildren, Sophia, Boyd, Kire, Reece, Kano, Jon, and AJ.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
