Winona N. Childress

Winona N. Childress, 95, of Madisonville passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.
Mrs. Childress was born November 26, 1921 in Marion, KY to the late John L. Newbell and Rowena Paris Newbell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Childress, Jr. and her sister, Sarah Knight.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. She was also a volunteer for the Glema Mahr Center.
She is survived by two sisters, Martha Poff of Sanford, FL and Rose Nell Buis of Liberty, KY; nephews, William R. (Mary) Louise) Knight of Port Isabel, TX; Jim Knight; and Steve (Paula) Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Carden officiating. Entombment will follow in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorail donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
