
Director and Embalmer and owner of Barnett-Strother Funeral Home & Crematory in Madisonville and Providence, KY. He began his career there in 1992 as an apprentice and earned a degree in Mortuary Science from Arapahoe Community College. Tom has been a licensed funeral director since 1996 and a licensed embalmer since 2006. A proud grandson of World War II veterans William O. Burns and Beatrice O. Burns, he is dedicated to serving veterans and his community; he is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council No. 11132. Tom is a past president of the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR) and currently serves on its Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors. He and his wife, Natalie Clark Hemmerle, have three sons—Joseph (Halie), Matthew (Molly), and Nicholas—and seven grandchildren: Hudson, Reece, Reid, Rowan, Luke, Eleanor, and Margaret Hemmerle.
